Selena's Diary
Hi, I'm Selena I've been here for four months and, well, I'm a Soul. I'm Caucasian, with short brown hair and deep brown eyes. I'm tall for my age, but that's okay, because I make up for it with my subdued personality.
Selena's Diary - Day 2
Dear Diary,
I guess you can tell that Cinsy and I are sharing a journal. We though it might be a nice way for us to get to know each other again without actually having to talk. I know she makes things light and airy, and that she's always smiling. But she's my sister, and I know that she also has emotions she doesn't like to show so often. Like sadness and anger and fear.
So I realize that talking about some things might make her uncomfortable and this was my idea. This way, I can write about what's happened with me and she can write about what's happened with her. We'll get to know each other and our different views and feelings on things that have been going on in our world, and we won't fight about it. I mean, unless we make argument back and forth between our journal entries, which would just be ridiculously immature.
I think there's only been two big events in my life since getting my host, Selena. One: Not telling them about Dad and Cinsy. He'd contacted me a few days before one of the Seekers discovered he wasn't actually a Soul and he just disappeared. And Two: Meeting Cinsy. Dad had told me what she looked like, how she'd always been so happy - practically everything he could tell me about her without my having to meet her. He even told me about Bob and Casper, and how she used their help to find hiding places or food for Dad and herself. He called them imaginary friends. I think they're more like .. Guardian Angels.
Meeting Cinsy in the city was absolutely amazing. I never thought I would see her and, to be honest, I was frightened to. I thought that, maybe, with losing me and Dad and being on her own she would have been bitter and sore about the entire topic. Yet she's still exactly as Dad described her - stunning.
These people in the caves, while suspicious at first, were very welcoming. I think the majority of them have done it for Cinsy. They all seem to love her. I've always envied that about her - the way others seem to be attracted to her. She was always receiving compliments and everyone would ask if she needed help. Most often, she would turn them down kindly. But it's like .. moths attracted to the moonlight.
I remember camping once, when we were younger. We were in the forest, in a cabin. She'd left the window open even though Mom had told her not to because of the animals. She was never afraid of them. She seemed wild and tame all at once. I was tucked into one of the beds, under two thick quilts, and she was on the floor with a fluffy pillow under her head and a thin sheet underneath her. That's when it happened. The moths were hovering around her, rather than flying to the moonlight in the sky.
The humans in the caves are like that ..
Love,
Selena[/blockquote]
