Kaitlen sat in her favourite little cafe. It was expensive but being a model she could afford it. She sat in the window sipping her hot coco. She scowled when it was cold and put her hand above it summoning her powers until it started to steam. She looked around and smiled knowing no one had saw her use her powers.

Skate walked into the cafe, a small group of punk skaters following her. She rolled her eyes and motioned them to a table, then sat alone. There were things she had to think about. For one, how could she start rebuilding her reputation? She was tired of being Skate; she wanted something else. Something that didn't involve teachers sending you to detention 'cause it's soo obvious that you're the problem. Something that didn't involve mindless sheep following you aroung 'cause they didn't wanna end up at the top of your List. She needed something new. She scowled and sent a slight breeze through the building.

Just as she was taking another sip something was out of place. She pulled her head away from the cup as she realized the breeze wasn't natural. Her eyes widened as she tried to figure out who did it. She'd have to do it the sneaky way. She glared across the room and set a spark out setting a few papers on fire to slightly burn. She knew the person who controled air wouldn't be afraid because she could sufficate the flame to death. She looked back down as if nothing had happened yet.

Skate ignored the sudden flames. Obviously someone else was in here as well. It definitely wasn't anyone in her group; they would have already challenged her. Maybe it was the manager; he seemed like he hated working here. Or maybe the little boy with his parents; he wouldn't be able to control it very well; things would be sporadic. But they would have left by now. Maybe it was the girl sitting by the window; she could be curious. And besides, Skate reasoned. The alarms will go off eventually, and everyone will leave. But the flames were a little too close. She edged further back in her chair and blew at the newspaper on the table. It was a strong enough breeze to smother the paper, and it ended as a charred stack. Skate shook her head and closed her eyes.

As the fire went out she knew her theory was confirmed: there was another elemental bender here. She had almost met a water bender before but she left before she got a chance to talk to her. Besides that, Katey had never talked to another bender. Powers were given to people at random and Katey got hers from birth. Only her parents and twin brother knew, although Erik wasn't happy when one twin got a power and the other didn't. Katey stood up looking at the people around. The old guy asleep and drooling on his table couldn't have dont it. And no one else had really seen the fire but the skater girl. She walked by and started charring up the her napkin writing a message on it that read "Meet me in the bathroom bender." She always had an idea of starting her own group with the benders but she hadn't known anyone else.

Skate stared blankly ahead. Okay, so I gave it away, she shrugged. It's no big deal. She glanced over at her group. They were being raucous, throwing papers around the room, some of them smoking. Skate sighed. I sooo need a new gig. She stood up. The Sheep stared at her.
"Go to your houses," she said. "We're done. I'm leaving this place. You guys can make your own trouble."
Even if the girl couldn't help her, Skate would still leave. She'd run away, go somewhere - anywhere. She walked into the bathroom and stood with her arms folded over her chest, leaning against the wall. The girl was applying a generous amount of lipgloss. Gross. Skate hated the feeling of products on her lips, and they were naturally soft; no chapping involved.

Katey silently waited until the last girl left and she smiled at the bender who entered. "Hello, Im Katey, and you are?" she asked politly. "Well, your name. I know you're the air bender already." She twirled her finger in the air in a rotating motion and flames shot out taking the form of a mini fire tornado.

She hesitated. If she wanted a new beginning, she'd need to start with a name. Kate would be too similar, but Sarah ... She said it anyway. "Sarah, Sarah Kate. And I don't like fire." She pushed a simple breeze forward and the added force exstinguished the flames.

A girl stepped out of one of the stalls that had -- just a moment ago -- had no feet under it, closing the door behind her. She smirked. "Bender, huh? And I just saw that. That air and fire thing." She smiled sadistically at the duo before walking to the mirror. She took a paper towel out and wiped the water off the counter with one neatly manicured hand before throwing it out. She checked to make sure every hair was in place.

"And you are?" Sarah asked, leaning against the door. She tucked her brown hair behind her ear and stared at the girl's reflection in the mirror. Her black eyes were guarded as she looked her over. She really was beautiful.

She side-glanced over at the other girl. "Avery. And you're lucky I'm a 'bender' too. To borrow a term." Avery looked back at herself and glanced at a single stray hair. As she looked at it, it neatly folded itself back into place. "I bend space," she confessed as she double- and triple-checked her hair for any other strays. Avery then whirled to face the other two. "Well isn't it a coincidence we're all here together today."

"Yeah," Sarah said, drawing out the word. "Big coincidence, for sure. Fire, space, air. Now all we need are costumes and a villain, and we could form a team of super heroes." She stood up straight and sighed. "Look, you guys are obviously really open with your ability and you're not afraid to use it. But I'm not like that. Bye now."
She opened the door and walked out, the hood from her jacket casting a deep shadow over her face and her hands in her pockets.

Avery stretched out the dark hallway connecting the restrooms to the main part of the cafe. She ambled over to the exit of the woman's restroom and leaned in the doorway, looking at the miles of dimly lit hallway. "Look, I'm not going to give you a big inspirational speech about how we have to stick together or anything, because I'm not like that. But I'm not about to let you just walk off knowing what I can do, because I would be so ruined if it got out. Do you know how many years I've spent convincing everyone who's ever met me that I'm a shallow dumb blonde?" She crossed her arms, and before anyone could blink, Sarah was standing right in front of the doorway, facing Avery.

"You think I would tell someone?" Sarah said quietly through her teeth. "If you think that, then you really must be shallow." She turned to walk away again, but paused. "As if anyone would believe me. It would be just the kind of thing that would make my parents ship me off again. And you know, maybe I will tell. They'd be absolutely delighted about my absence at the house."

The walls of the hallway grew closer together, until they formed a v shape sprouting from the bathroom. "No," she said forcefully. "You don't get to tell. If you just want out of your house, I'm sure something can be arranged. But you're not taking me down in some suicide mission." The room spun and, before you knew it, Sarah was standing back in the bathroom. "What do you say? I've got an easy out if you swear to secrecy."
